Deaf Life for a Hearing Mind

A few weeks ago I went and got my full drivers license. Like many other things this turned out to be a lot more complicated than it should have been. So I want to share my story and then go through what went wrong and what needs to change for Deaf people trying to get their license and completing the examination.

I had taken a few drivers test lessons prior to my actual test. My instructor upon finding out that I couldn’t hear him was amazing. And in all honesty, I probably couldn’t have asked for a better one. If there was something in particular that needed to be explained to me he would signal for me to pull of the car and explain it to me.
